Yesterday I spoke with a couple who came to see me after consulting with another attorney. This simple question will reveal to you instantly whether or not this attorney has the kind of experience in both of the chapters that consumers typically file so that you can be relatively certain that you will receive good advice.

   Would filing chapter 13 save their boat, car and camper?

   Indeed! It did save their boat, camper, car and the first attorney told them that they just had to “suck it up” and lose it as the “price they had to pay” to get rid of their debt and file a chapter 7.

   WRONG!

   The price they had to pay to KEEP it all was $85 per month in a chapter 13.

   We are seeing an increasing number of cases filed as Chapter 7 which result in unnecessary loss of property by consumers.
