The Chapter 13 trustee performs many functions in a consumer bankruptcy case. First, the Chapter 13 trustee will interview the consumer and the attorney and review all of the filings in the Chapter 13 case. Then, the Chapter 13 trustee will review all of the filings by the consumer’s creditors. The trustee will make sure that the creditors have properly proven that they are owed money and how much money they will be paid. Then, as the Chapter 13 case progresses, the trustee will monitor the case and make monthly distribution to the creditors from the money that consumer pays in to the case.
