Once you file for bankruptcy, all of your debts that you list in the bankruptcy will be dealt with by the bankruptcy process. In a Chapter 13 these bills may be paid in full or in part, and in a Chapter 7 the debts may never have be paid. In some cases, you may choose to continue paying certain bills, for example when you decide to keep the house or car in your Chapter 7 bankruptcy. You would continue to pay your normal living expenses, utilities, car insurance and food for example, in both kinds of bankruptcy cases.
