Bankruptcy law requires that you list all of your debts in your bankruptcy filing. You are not permitted to pick and choose between the debts that you list in your bankruptcy. However, this does not mean that you are not permitted to pay some of these debts if you choose to. So, for example, if you have a doctor that you are treating with and wish to continue to see the doctor and want to pay the doctor, You would have to list the doctor in your bankruptcy but you could contact the doctor explain that you are filing a bankruptcy but you will choose to continue to pay the doctor and still want to remain a patient.
